the ROSIER story again, my gloomy demon knight thinking gloomy thoughts. :giggle:
I don't think I ever get bored of drawing silver-haired bishies.

...aaah, silver-haired bishies, ahhh...

where was i? ah, yes. I was gonna make a coloring tutorial out of this but i soon realized it was a rather unfortunate example, having too limited a palette. but never fear! will get to making it one of these days.

oooh, i see the critique button! pretty! i been wondering where it is...

yeah, i'm kinda silly today. it's because i'm happy to have finally got rid of the headache/migraine i had this last week. i swear i hate springtime almost as much as i hate summer.

This work caught my eye the moment I saw it - your use of colors is very impressive and the combination of red and black is naturally very effective. I especially like how you've used the reds in a very soft way; it gives me an impression of a misty morning, the morning before a great battle. It's also slightly creepy, because it makes it look like the ground was soaked with blood.

The overall concept is not the most original (meaning, I've seen this kind of ideas used before) but it works well. Background and character are in a good balance. But I think the character's pose needs a bit more work, because it looks rather stiff. His arm should be longer and it should bend just a little at the elbow to make his grip of the sword look more natural.

Because the light is coming behind him, you could have made the shadows a bit darker on his skin and armor. I think that would make the artwork more dramatic and the red in his eye would definitely stand out more. I really think it should stand out because there is already a lot of red in this work and a gleaming red eye would make it even more dramatic, even sinister.

Overall I like this work very much - the mood of it pulls me in and makes me want to know what the story behind it is. Your misty coloring style never fails to impress me.
